Laura Roth develops photographic and sculptural works exploring the material origins of digital technologies and the traces they leave in landscapes. Her practice investigates how nature and technology continuously shape one another, examining landscapes as places where memory, extraction and transformation become visible.

Working across photography, sculpture and installation, Roth combines reflective surfaces, industrial materials and photographic processes to expose the material connections between geological formations and technological infrastructures. Through reflection, light and recurring geometric structures, her works examine perception as a means of revealing relationships that often remain unseen.

Roth studied Graphic Design & Photography. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Ars Electronica, the Leopold Museum, Rencontres d'Arles and the British Journal of Photography's OpenWalls exhibition. She was awarded the START Grant (Federal Ministry for Arts and Culture, Austria, 2026) and the 1st Prize of the Carinthian Artist Award (2024).
