A fragment is never just a piece combines photography, reflective stainless steel and illuminated lithophane prints in a fragmented wall sculpture developed through research at the Eden Project in Cornwall.
Photographs of cultivated plant environments are embedded within mirrored hexagonal elements whose reflections continuously shift with the viewer's position. Rather than producing a single stable image, the work remains in constant transformation as photographic fragments, light and reflection overlap across its surface.
The hexagon, a structure found in both natural formations and technological systems, recurs as a visual link between these worlds. Its modular geometry extends the work beyond the individual image, assembling photographic fragments, reflections and light into a larger visual structure.
